Step-by-step process

  1. 01Create or sign in to your IMUGA account on the official immigration portal.
  2. 02Select the passport service — new application, renewal, or replacement.
  3. 03Fill in the application form with your personal and contact details.
  4. 04Upload a digital photo that meets the photo standard.
  5. 05Pay the applicable fee online via card or supported payment methods.
  6. 06Submit your application and book a biometrics appointment if required.
  7. 07Collect your passport from the selected counter once notified.

Required documents

  • National Identity Card (original) for verification.
  • Birth certificate for applicants below 18 years.
  • Previous passport (if renewing or replacing).
  • Police report for lost or stolen passports.
  • Recent passport-size photograph meeting the photo standard.
  • Parental consent and ID for minors below 18 years.

Fees & processing time

  • Standard processing typically completed within 5 working days.
  • Express service available at an additional fee for urgent travel.
  • Replacement passports may carry a higher fee than standard renewal.
  • Fees are payable online during application submission.

Collection

  • You will be notified by SMS or email once the passport is ready.
  • Bring your National ID and the application receipt at collection.
  • An authorised representative may collect on your behalf with a signed letter and ID copies.
