Dependent Visa

A Dependent Visa allows the immediate family members — spouse and children under the age of 18 — of a valid Work, Business, or Resident Visa holder to reside in the Maldives for the duration of the principal visa holder's stay.

Eligibility

  • Principal visa holder must hold a valid Work, Business, or Corporate Resident Visa.
  • Dependants are limited to legal spouse and biological or legally adopted children under 18.
  • Principal applicant must demonstrate sufficient income and accommodation to support dependants.

How to Apply

  1. 01Log in to the IMUGA portal with the principal visa holder's eFaas account.
  2. 02Select the Dependent Visa service from the dashboard.
  3. 03Add each dependant and complete their personal and travel details.
  4. 04Upload the supporting documents listed below for each dependant.
  5. 05Submit the application and pay the applicable fee per dependant.
  6. 06Collect the visa endorsement from Maldives Immigration upon approval.

Documents Required

  • Passport biodata page of each dependant (minimum 6 months validity).
  • Recent passport-size photograph for each dependant.
  • Marriage certificate (for spouse) or birth certificate (for children), attested where applicable.
  • Copy of the principal visa holder's passport and current visa.
  • Proof of income or employment letter from the principal applicant.

Validity

  • Dependent Visa validity matches the principal visa holder's visa expiry date.
  • Renewal must be applied for in parallel with the principal visa renewal.
  • Dependent Visa is automatically void if the principal visa is cancelled.

A Dependent Visa does not authorise employment in the Maldives. A separate Work Visa is required for any paid work.
