Business Visa

A Business Visa is issued to foreign investors, partners, and senior officials of companies registered in the Maldives. It enables holders to manage and operate their business activities while residing in the country.

Eligibility

  • Foreign shareholders, directors, or senior officials of a company registered with the Ministry of Economic Development.
  • Holders of an approved Foreign Investment Agreement with the Government of the Maldives.
  • Applicants must hold a passport with a minimum validity of six (6) months.

How to Apply

  1. 01Log in to the Xpat Online System at xpat.egov.mv using a valid eFaas account.
  2. 02Switch to the relevant company profile under My Organization.
  3. 03Select Business Visa and start a new application.
  4. 04Complete the form and upload supporting documents.
  5. 05Submit the application and pay the processing fee.
  6. 06An e-Visa will be issued upon approval and accessible from the dashboard.

Documents Required

  • Passport biodata page (clear colour copy).
  • Recent passport-size photograph per Maldives Immigration photo standards.
  • Company registration certificate and shareholder details.
  • Letter of appointment or board resolution for senior officials.
  • Foreign Investment Agreement, where applicable.

Validity

  • Issued for an initial period of one (1) year and renewable annually.
  • Validity is contingent on the company remaining in good standing with Maldivian authorities.
  • Business Visa holders must update their visa passport number if a new passport is issued.

Discrepancies between the visa passport number and the physical passport may result in passport retention at the border for verification.
