Who Can Sponsor
- A Maldivian citizen aged 18 years or above.
- A company or business registered with the Ministry of Economic Development.
- A government institution or recognised non-governmental organisation.
How to Apply
- 01Log in to the IMUGA portal at imuga.immigration.gov.mv with a valid eFaas account.
- 02Select the Sponsorship Visa service from the dashboard.
- 03Complete the application form with sponsor and visitor details.
- 04Upload supporting documents listed below.
- 05Submit the application and pay the applicable processing fee.
- 06Track the application status from your IMUGA dashboard.
Documents Required
- Clear colour copy of the visitor's passport biodata page (minimum 6 months validity).
- Recent passport-size photograph meeting Maldives Immigration photo standards.
- Confirmed travel itinerary including return tickets.
- Sponsor's national ID or company registration certificate.
- Letter of sponsorship explaining the purpose and duration of stay.
Validity & Conditions
- The Sponsorship Visa is typically issued for up to 30 days and may be extended on request.
- The sponsor is responsible for the visitor's accommodation, expenses, and lawful conduct.
- The visa does not authorise paid employment in the Maldives.
False or misleading information on a sponsorship application may result in cancellation of the visa and future refusal of entry.
